COVID-19 Testing Plan Information
Beginning the week of November 30, we plan to routinely test 20-30 percent of the on-site student and employee population. Test results are returned within 48-72 hours.
Bay Ridge Prep has partnered with Acutis Diagnostics, a DOH/CAP certified lab, to offer on-site COVID-19 testing for Bay Ridge Prep students and employees. These PCR tests are less invasive nasal swabs than standard COVID-19 tests with the added benefit of the test being administered in school so there is no need to travel to a medical or testing facility.
Acutis Diagnostics works with each patient’s health insurance carrier so that there is no cost to the patient being tested. Parents of students randomly selected, as well as employees, will be notified prior to the scheduled on-site test. You may also choose to do testing outside of school and send the school nurse a copy of the test results. Students and employees may also request precautionary testing if they are not in the randomly selected group.
We believe data we collect on our community is critical to our decision making and ensuring that our efforts to reduce the risk of virus spread are working. Thank you, in advance, for your help with keeping our community safe.
