In Season of Giving, Students Support Three Local Organizations

The Bay Ridge Prep community rallied during this season of giving to support the work of three local organizations that provide services and comfort to local residents. This year, student-led efforts resulted in hundreds of donations to the Fourth Avenue Food Pantry, Providence House and the Olivia Boccuzzi Foundation.

The Upper School Community Service Club organized a food drive for the Fourth Avenue Food Pantry, which received dozens of bags filled with donated food and household items for local families just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The club also organized a toy and gift card drive for the Olivia Boccuzzi Foundation, which distributes toys to children spending the holiday season as patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and other local pediatric oncology hospitals.

Lower and Middle School families contributed enough items to fill 195 gift bags for the women and families supported by Providence House. This special organization helps recently incarcerated mothers care for their families. Gifts delivered from Bay Ridge Prep included hats scarves, lotions, robes, crafts and gift cards.

Founded in 1998, Bay Ridge Prep is an independent, K-12 college preparatory school offering exceptional courses and intimate class sizes in a socially-mature and positive environment.
