Honors Students Visit NYU Shakespeare Class

For one night in November, Upper School students enrolled in Dr. Adam Wolfsdorf's Honors Shakespeare class visited the undergraduate course he teaches at New York University. During their visit to NYU, the Bay Ridge Prep students collaborated with junior year college students who are English Education majors.

Working on Act III of "Hamlet", the students discussed theories of sanity, family conflict, power dynamics and how Shakespeare uses rhetorical devices to unlock the psychology of characters and convey dramatic content.

While the group of Bay Ridge Prep students loved the experience of a college class, the NYU students, who are training to become teachers, were left impressed with the depth of knowledge that their high school visitors possessed.

Founded in 1998, Bay Ridge Prep is an independent, K-12 college preparatory school offering exceptional courses and intimate class sizes in a socially-mature and positive environment.
