At this level, all cross-country races are 1.5 miles and held at Cadman Plaza in downtown Brooklyn. Our final championship meet will be hosted by Bay Ridge Prep at Shore road park. Even though there is an open invitation for all students to participate, there will be a requirement that participants are able to complete this distance without stopping and having to walk. For beginners, we encourage the students to come out and train with us on our Monday practice days, even if they are not yet ready for competitive level races. Over the first few weeks of training, the track coaches will assess all runners at practice to determine who will be ready for the competitive cross country racing.

All practice days (when the school calendar begins) will be held on Mondays after school from 3:15 to 4:30 and will run through the entire year.

*** Due to the Fall competitive season starting very early in the school year, there will be mandatory practices and meetings before school begins to start training and assessment for ONLY those runners competing in meets. These practices will be held on Monday, August 13, 20 and 27 at 10 a.m. We will meet at the Lower School building on 81st Street and Ridge Boulevard.

The following dates are Track Meets we will compete in:

Admissions

Bay Ridge Prep is selective in admissions and prospective students go through a formal application process.  What we look for most in an applicant is a student who will benefit from our programs and make a positive impact on our community.

Academics

Bay Ridge Prep students get their first taste of hands-on learning in Kindergarten, when they become owners and operators of their own bakery.  By high school, they are deeply engaged in courses like Science, Research & Design - a three-year class that offers the opportunity to conduct original, independent research.

Arts

Led by experienced arts educators with advanced degrees in art, music and theater, the arts program recognizes that creative expression is a vital and integral part of a student’s development.

Athletics

Home to nine championships in the last seven years, Bay Ridge Prep Athletics offers students an opportunity to explore physical challenges and develop leadership and teamwork skills.

Student life is more than just classes, clubs and team sports.  Bay Ridge Prep is proactive in making every day life for students engaging, positive and enjoyable.

Giving

Giving to Bay Ridge Prep has a profound impact on the daily lives of our students and helps give the school's administration the flexibility and financial resources to address spontaneous needs in and out of the classroom such as undertaking new programs and facility upgrades.
