Another successful Middle School theater production brought together over 30 students in a collaborative effort to bring the play "Tumbling After" to life at the 81st Street Auditorium. Students took on a number of roles including acting, prompting, understudying, painting scenery, altering costumes, gluing sequins, designing programs and posters, selling tickets, ushering and bringing in food for bake sales.

"Tumbling After", written and directed by Lower & Middle School Arts Coordinator Patti Veconi, tells the story of Jack and Jill in young adulthood after Jack’s return to Goosetown following his shenanigans up the beanstalk.

More than just Jack and Jill, this ensemble piece included many stand out characters and memorable performances by Bay Ridge Prep's young thespians. While the charming play was first and foremost entertaining, there were also many contemporary themes to explore in it, including gentrification, eminent domain, abuse of power, gender stereotypes, the effect of grassroots organizing, and most of all, the consequences of our choices.

This year's cast and crew included: Sofia Awikeh, Andrew Betro, Matthew Betro, Danny Calacanis, Frankie Calacanis, Ella Composto, Sienna Cruz, Austin DeGaetano, Ava Elfont, Mary Joe Evangelista, Sophia Feder, Samara Gellizeau, Arlo Gleich, Amelia Gordon, Hailey Hebert, Nico Liguori, Yvonne Locatell-Harris, Kate Lynch, Michael Mastorakis, Lila Menussi-Sharp, Leila Mullarkey, Summer Murjani, Arianne Nesbit, Ryder Nuesell, Hailey Parcell, Ryann Parcell, Sydney Radix, Briana Robles, David Sikarevich, Maya Slotnick, Alina Stoll, Kye Stressler, Alyssa Tran, Jack Walsh, and Phoenix Ward.

Special thanks to our faculty production team: Robin Reczek, Deb Brown, Marjorie Vera and Danielle Staropoli for their many hours and skills in making this year's show a success!
