Bay Ridge Prep Varsity Tennis Tiger Dylan Friedman ‘18 will join Binghamton University’s men’s tennis program in fall. The 6’5” elite tennis player won the Men’s Open event at Sportime Randall’s Island in January 2018 and is evaluated as a three-star player by Tenniscruiting.net.
“I chose this program because it’s a high caliber Division I school which is close to home and has the resources for me to take my game to the next level,” said Friedman, who has played tennis since the age of six.
Asked how he feels about moving on to college, Friedman said his is confident.
“My teachers here at Bay Ridge Prep have prepared me for a rigorous college environment,” he said, “especially with the level of academics experienced this year as a senior.”
In a news release from Binghamton, the university’s men’s tennis coach Nick Zieziula called Friedman a “great fit academically and with our team culture.”
"He has an excellent commitment to the process and understands the work that needs to be put in day to day in order to chase big goals,” Ziezula said, “It has been a pleasure to get to know Dylan on court and off court through the recruiting process and we are looking forward to working with him next year.”
