Upper School English Teacher Adam Wolfsdorf had an eventful day on December 4. At 12:59 p.m., an article he authored was published by the academic journal Changing English. At 1 p.m., he began defending his dissertation at Columbia University, the last step toward earning a doctorate degree.
The article, "Reflecting on Functioning in Trigger Happy America", focuses on trigger warnings in literature and is based on the work Dr. Wolfsdorf completed to earn his Ph.D. in English Education from Columbia. Read the full article here.
Adam Wolfsdorf has been with Bay Ridge Prep since 2000. He graduated from Harvard University cum laude with a bachelors degree in English Language and Literature. In addition to his Ph.D. from Columbia, he also holds a Masters degree in Psychology and Education from Columbia. He has taught Shakespeare, American Literature, Chemistry, Finance, and Vocal Performance and has served as a summer workshop teaching fellow for The Kenyon Review, the most prestigious literary journal in the country.
