Fri. Nov. 9 Now Full Day of School
Halloween Activities Rescheduled
Dear School Community,
We were happy to reopen our doors on Thursday, November 1, and help students and families return to their daily lives. In case you're wondering, close to 70% of our students were able to attend and we look forward to seeing many more return over the next few days. Going forward, the following adjustments have been made to our school schedule.
Monday, November 5 - Normal School Day:
Normal start time for students in grades K-12.
Friday, November 9 - Classes in Session; Staff Development Day Canceled:
This is now a full, regular day of school with classes in session for students in grades K-12. Staff Development Day has been canceled.
Many students have asked if our annual Halloween at Bay Ridge Prep celebrations will still take place. We are pleased to announce that we will indeed move forward with hosting our Halloween events. The Halloween at Bay Ridge Prep schedule is as follows.
Lower/Middle School Halloween - Friday, November 2:
Grades K-8 students can come in dress down clothing and change into costumes in the afternoon. The Middle School will host its annual Halloween Costume Contest after lunch and the Lower School will have a special crafts project. Students will receive special treat bags during the day.
High School Halloween - Tuesday, November 6:
Grades 9-12 students can come to school in costumes. There will be a costume party after school from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. Students will receive special treat bags during the school day.
Finally, we were so touched to hear our students ask today how our community can help those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. We are in the process of identifying Bay Ridge Prep families and friends who are in need of supplies or assistance and will soon send out a list of items to be collected. If you are one of the affected families, or know of one, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at bayridgeprep@bayridgeprep.org or call us at 718-833-9090. We wish you all continued safety and wellness and look forward to seeing New York City and all affected areas recover and rebuild.
Sincerely,
Charles Fasano & Michael Dealy
